TFW is a small but perfectly formed, independent wine merchant, based in North Norfolk
The importance of international growing and production standards are paramount in my wine selection. With minimal overheads, TFW Fine Wines has quality wines at good prices. Wines are sourced from all over the world and that all important, favourite wine, can be tracked down. It is a romantic idea & it would be lovely to travel from vineyard to vineyard but the reality of it is not justifiable so I meet the producers & growers at the professional wine tastings in London.
I do get excited when I find a real gem of a wine. Good quality, balanced & well-made, with minimal intervention.
In my quest to find something a little different & unique. I like to know the provenance of the wine, so it is important to meet the grower or producer at the professional tastings & build up a rapport with them & a true understanding of the wine. By remaining independent I have total control over wines & vintage selection. Being in this fortunate position, I am entirely uncommitted to any chateaux, vintage etc & therefore not obliged to purchase inferior vintages. I aim for consistency with all of my wines and therefore many have now become the backbone of my wine list.

Tanja Wright – founder & proprietor of TFW Fine Wines
I studied at the WSET in London (Wine & Spirit Education Trust). One of the most enjoyable aspects of my job, is tutoring clients about wines, teaching them how to taste wines & what to look for. Seeing confidence grow with their individual palate is incredibly rewarding. To establish a palate & preferences it is very often a process of elimination. This can be both exciting and challenging in equal proportions.
I personally undertake the tutored tastings; private group tastings, staff tastings within the working restaurant etc. I also enjoy food & wine complimenting for everyday drinking, special occasions, weddings, parties & other functions.
Being a farmers daughter from the Norfolk/Suffolk Waveney area, my passion for both local & seasonal food is important, as is the provenance of the wines I select for my wine list.
